How to Read Your Birth Chart

A birth chart is a snapshot of the sky the moment you were born. Learn to read planets, signs, and houses — one layer at a time.

A birth chart looks complicated at first, but it rests on three simple questions: which planet, in which sign, and in which house.

Planets: the what

Each planet represents a part of you. The Sun is identity, the Moon emotion, Mercury the mind, Venus love, and Mars drive and desire.

Signs: the how

The sign a planet sits in describes the style — how that energy expresses itself. Mars in Aries acts directly; Mars in Libra prefers to seek consensus.

Houses: the where

The twelve houses represent areas of life — relationships, career, home, money. The house tells you where in your daily life a planet's energy shows up most.

Start slowly. Find your Sun, Moon, and Rising, then add one layer at a time. You don't have to read the whole chart at once.
